The excitement leading up to UFC 215

This Saturday the Ultimate Fighter Championship (UFC) will host their 215th PPV event which will include two highly anticipated titles bouts. In one title match, a fighter is looking to make history in becoming the UFC fighter with the most titles defenses. In another, it will feature two ultra talented strikers who are ready to make a statement.

A rematch, but this time for a title

In the co-main event of the evening, Valentina Shevchenko and current UFC Women's Bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes are set to battle. These two first met at UFC 196 where they kicked off the main card. Both fighters went the distance where Nunes secured a victory by way of unanimous decision. Since then, in only two mixed martial arts (MMA) bouts Nunes picked up a first-round submission win over Miesha Tate for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship, and then successfully defended it against superstar Ronda Rousey in only 48 seconds.

After losing to Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko also earned victories over former Women's Bantamweight Champion, Holly Holms, and surprised the MMA world with a 2nd round submission win against Julianna Peña. Nunes will be entering this upcoming fight on five fight winning streak and is looking to continue defending her title. Shevchenko, on the other hand, is seeking to redeem herself from her previous loss, captured UFC gold, and force a possible trilogy fight against Nunes.

Mighty Mouse is aiming to make history

Current UFC Flyweight champion, Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson is known for his quick striking, fast movement, and successfully looking for ways to throw his opponents off their game. According to many sport and MMA outlets, Johnson is considered to be one of the greatest MMA fighters in the world. He currently holds multiple records in the UFC. If victorious against his upcoming opponent this Saturday night, he would be the UFC fighter with the most title defenses, beating Anderson "The Spider" Silva.

Across the cage from Johnson will be Ray Borg. Borg previously competed in King of the Cage as well as Legacy Fighting Championship organization, and currently, is ranked #3 in the UFC Flyweight division. In his five years professional run, he compiled an impressive record of 11-2. At UFC 215, Borg is aiming to spoil the party by shocking the world with a victory over Demetrious Johnson and capturing UFC gold.
