The excitement leading up to UFC 187

UFC 187 is approaching, and words can't fully describe how stoked I am for this MMA event. There will be two title bouts in the co-main and main event. Prior to that, MMA elites such as: Donald Cerrone, Travis Browne, Andrei Arlovski, John Dodson, and Rose Namajunas are looking to make a statement in their division. Below are three reasons why I'm more than excited for this event:

Main Event Title Bout

Anthony Johnson, and Daniel Cormier is an intriguing light heavyweight matchup. Both MMA fighters have a superb wrestling background, and great striking skills. Daniel Cormier definitely has the edge when it comes to wrestling, because he's a former college and Olympic wrestler. When it comes to striking, Anthony Johnson definitely has more power than Cormier. Johnson has shown his incredible knock out ability against his previous opponents, most recently, against Alexander Gustafsson. Cormier has fought in championship bouts that went the distance before, so it will be interesting to see how Johnson handle himself in the later rounds.

Co-Main Event Title Bout

Chris Weidman shocked the MMA world after defeating Anderson Silva twice. However, people still questioned Weidman's abilities. After defeating, and defending the UFC middleweight title against Lyoto Machida in a five round bout, he showed everyone that he is the real deal. Weidman's upcoming opponent, Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort has established himself in the MMA world for his devastating striking abilities, being a former UFC light heavyweight champion, and starting his MMA journey at age 19. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in this fight.

Great Preliminary and Main Card

This entire UFC card is filled with important bouts. With a win, John Dodson can earn another title shot at Demetrious Johnson. Travis Browne versus Andrei Arlovski is an exciting title contender bout. Can Donald Cerrone increase his winning streak to eight, and possibly earn a title shot? Will Rose Namajunas redeem herself after her lose against Carla Esparza? Will all of these fights live up to out expectations? We will see this Saturday night!

FIGHT PREDICTIONS:
Rose Namajunas
Uriah Hall
Josh Burkman
John Dodson
Joseph Benavidez
Travis Browne
Donald Cerrone
Chris Weidman
Daniel Cormier

The countdown until Splatoon

Nintendo's new Wii U IP, Splatoon is slated for release later this month. When Nintendo announced Splatoon during last year's E3, I was intrigued. This third-person team-based shooter is bright, colorful, and charming. Based on the gameplay footage I watched, and players' reactions I seen in person at PAX East 2015, Splatoon definitely seems
promising.

It's refreshing to see an all new IP coming from Nintendo. I love the Mario, Metroid, and Zelda franchises for multiple reasons, but to see a new IP that shows a lot of potential is a good thing to both gamers, and Nintendo as well. If Splatoon is a success, it will be a great addition to Nintendo's powerhouse list of franchises.

Splatoon introduces mechanics that will give the player the ability to change to humanoid form and squid form. While playing in humanoid form, the player can shoot colored ink across the level. Teams win matches by covering most of the level with their team's colored ink before time expires. In squid form, the player can swim through their team ink, travel across the levels faster, bypass gates, and swim up walls.

Like most games I'm excited for, I'm hoping for the best. Splatoon has charm, an unique art style, and most importantly, it's a new Nintendo IP that shows a lot of potential. Can't Wait!

My journey in Bloodborne so far #1

Last month, I started my journey in the PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne. So far, I'm definitely enjoying the time I spent playing this game. After playing it for a while, I noticed that Bloodborne does a great job disciplining the player. If you are impatient, or become too greedy while battling enemies, you will become frustrate, and your character will die many times.

I managed to defeated both Cleric Beast, and Father Gascoigne. I was able to defeated Cleric Beast on my second try. Patience is a must in Bloodborne. Each enemy and boss I encountered so far moves differently, and has unique attacks. You have to study each enemies' pattern, in order to counter their attacks and capitalize. When I fought Father Gascoigne, I thought I had everything figured out with countering enemies' attacks. I got too greedy, and Father Gascoigne defeated me multiple times. I was so frustrated that I had to take a break from playing the game. Eventually, later that night, I defeated this boss. Don't get too greedy!

I find Bloodborne both exciting and frustrating, which is why I'm enjoying it so much. It does a marvelous job rewarding you for your patience. Currently, I'm at Old Yharnam. I know I have a lot of playing ahead of me, and I look forward to it.
