A title contention bout looks to thrill the crowd #WinterWarriors2

The sequel to ONE's #WinterWarriors series will take place this Friday. Closing the show will be a flyweight contest between two top-ranked competitors. Former ONE title challenger Danny "The King" Kingad will test his skills against former titleholder Kairat "The Kazakh" Akhmetov. Both fighters have in common that they shared the cage and suffered a loss to the current champion, Adriano "Mikinho" Moraes. Kingad or Akhmetov can avenge their loss against the now flyweight king with a victory this Friday.

Danny "The King" Kingad | Pro MMA Record: 14-2-0

Kingad is a slick striker who moves light on his feet and does a phenomenal job avoiding his opponent's offense. He will attack whoever stands in front of him with low kicks and constantly look for the takedown once the distance is closed. Kingad can be a handful for most flyweights. What's most impressive about Kingad is his ability to fight at a swift pace while changing levels. He's also known for landing various kicks to the low and midsection of his opponents. However, Kingad did suffer his first defeat back in 2017 against Moraes in the first round via submission. With a win over Akhmetov, he can show the MMA world why he deserves another title shot.

Kairat "The Kazakh" Akhmetov | Pro MMA Record: 24-2-0

It will not be an easy night for Kingad because his upcoming opponent is a former ONE titleholder who beat Moraes via split decision in 2015. Kairat Akhmetov has 15 wins via stoppage with ten by submission. Since joining the ONE organization, Akhmetov is 5-2 and has competed in three title fights, each full 25 minutes. He stepped in his ONE debut undefeated with an impressive record of 23-0. His first opponent was no one other than Moraes, in which Akhmetov won via unanimous decision. In the rematch, Moraes avenged his loss in a title unification bout. If Akhmetov is successful against Kingad, he can claim a chance to meet Moraes for the third time in a title rubber match.

A handful of former ONE titleholders will also compete on this fight card, such as Kevin Belingon, Vitaly Bigdash, and Zebaztian Kadestam. ONE's Winter Warriors II promises to be a stellar card of nonstop title contention action. It will go down this Friday!
